FIRST COLUMBIA LLC ADDS INTERIOR DESIGNER TO STAFF:

Bette Sibling Will Work with Closely with Brothers; Bolster Real Estate Development Company’s Extensive In-House Capabilities

LATHAM (July 28, 2004) — Enhancing its in-house capabilities which already include feasibility, planning, regulatory and financing services, First Columbia -- one of the Capital Region’s leading commercial development companies -- today announced it has added an interior design professional to its extensive in-house commercial property development team.

Ann Marie Parker, a professional interior designer with more than 18 years of experience in all phases of design ranging from multi-tenant offices to Fortune 500 companies, will provide a full spectrum of design services, including programming, space planning, lighting, interior architecture, furniture layouts and procurement.

“Research has shown that professional interior design services significantly enhance the efficient utilization of real estate, and most importantly, personnel productivity,” said First Columbia President Kevin Bette, whose company builds and manages medical, commercial, recreational and residential properties running from the North Country to the Hudson Valley. “All of our buildings require extensive lobby and suite design work, and having a professional interior designer of her caliber on staff will be an invaluable asset.”

In her new role at First Columbia, Parker will have an opportunity to work alongside her brothers Kevin, Chris and Mark, all partners in First Columbia. The Malta resident will also collaborate closely on projects with Matthew and Peter Bette, her two other brothers who own sister company Bette & Cring Construction, a diversified construction management/general contracting firm whose recent projects include Riverhill Center, Avila independent retirement community, and Ski Windham.

Parker, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers since 1990, comes to First Columbia from Standard Commercial Interiors in Albany. Prior to that she founded and operated her own successful interior design business, Parker Design Associates, with a client roster that included St. Peter’s Hospital, The Galesi Group, Capital District YMCA, Barry Bette & Led Duke and Columbia Development Group. She began her career as a staff designer at Cooper Carry Interiors Group in Atlanta where she worked on the corporate headquarters for National Service Industries, Home Depot, IBM Nashville and Kimberley Clark.
